I am working on a video for the Year in Review for JSC. I was given a list of items that are must haves for said video at the end of October.
Looking at this list I and going over the content, all the content that are must haves for this video we have a 4K version in our archives from this year. AWWWW YEAAAAAAH! I also see it as a opportunity to try something quite far away from what NASA is know for putting out.
Working hard on this video to meet a rough edit deadline of mid November with anticipation of video release in December.
Send the rough off for review. The video went thought one layer of review with little changes requested. GREAT, or so I thought. This review had no meaning what so ever. It stilled need the approval of the a much higher up.
Two weeks after draft review and two days before final delivery I get an email from higher up with the changes they want to see in the video. My jaw hit the floor and my blood pressure spiked. After a walk around the pond and a cup of coffee lets actually look at said changes.
These changes where total content changes and lots of new content add to said video. All the new content asked for we didn't have in 4k. Well back to 720p.
Well joy... pulled some long hours to get a new video out for review before final due date.
Make due date for final. Out of hours for the week. In on a Friday for 2 hours for a completely unrelated meeting, and "BING!" a email for a "quick change". At 40 of 40 for the week, they will have to wait till next week, but they needed for that night. Did I mention no OT approved. Had to leave .
That next week the video was release internally after they had asked for another round of change before I was even complete with the new content changes they asked for. (The rough is now live on the intranet at this point.) JOY! They still want the new changes and will replace the video when they get the new one. Complete it a short time later, and send it to the necessary parties.
Well that leads me to this week. End of December almost a month later after the final version was complete or so i thought. I get an email asking for parts of this other video to be added into the what was suppose to be completed and released picture.
I am still waiting for the video to reach the internet so I know it is finally done.
