Every time I come on here, I want to make a journal. But then I realize I have a very dull life. So I have nothing to write about, and I end up posting nothing. Five months have passed since my last journal. It's actually probably closer to six months since the Secret Santa stuff had be turned in around late November I think. A few things have happened in that time. So here is a list of them:
1. In February, the Player 4 Podcast turned two years old! Which means we have also crossed into triple digit episode territory! Are we internet famous yet? Hell no! But we continue to enjoy doing it, and that is all that really matters. I take pride in the fact that we are one of the few podcasts run by members of the RT Community that has endured and continues. We even had a panel at RTX 2016. If possible, we plan on doing one this year as well! It's been a real blast getting to chat each week with some of my best friends, @Shagrazir, @JDunlap, and @TsukiKiba . I look forward to the next 100 episodes!
2. In April, three days after RT's birthday was my 5 year Roosterversary! Not overly special when you consider the people who are in the double digits, but it is still a milestone. It seems like it has been so much longer. But, I have to take into account that after I discovered the first 5 seasons of RvB randomly one day through google searching something else, I visited the site for the next three seasons without signing up. One of those cases where, for a while, I was unsure about trying to work my way into a community like this. I'm glad I took that plunge, though. This was the best community I've ever been a part of. I say 'was' because it is a shell of its former self. Maybe the site focus starting in July can help bring some of it back. Either way, I'll still be here. In August, it will be 5 years as a sponsor. I know it is now called 'First', but I'm old fashioned and hate the way that sounds. I'm still grandfathered in at the original price. One of the reasons I don't want to give it up. But, also because I started watching more content again. Delved into Funhaus finally, and I LOVE them! Funny that during my time at RTX and helping with the Funhaus Lounge, I never really got to see them, let alone knew anything about them.
3. Speaking of RTX, this is my third year as a Guardian and fifth attending overall. Only missed the first two. I was a Line Guardian the past two years, but this year will be a bit different. I will be taking up the mantle of Response. That means I have even less knowledge of where I'll be, as Response is basically everywhere! I'm looking forward to working with a new team, and helping RTX Austin be one of the best conventions around! I still plan on carrying my white board around with catchy phrases and information. I'll also be wearing my tall black skull hat again. So if you recognize me from last year, come say hi!
So those were the three main things that happened up until now. I wish my life was more exciting every now and then, but looking at just this, it's still looking pretty good!
