This month's playlist contains songs that stuck with me so strongly, and reverberated so heavily in my brain, that I either had to research their meaning, or create my own. They've caused me to buy multiple books, inspired more than a few stories/ideas, and continue to serve as a panacea for writer's block (at least for me). Fun fact, "White Man In Hammersmith Palais" was the inspiration for this entire playlist experiment. Enjoy!

It's our 15 Year Anniversary, and we just wrapped an incredible Let's Play Spring Break, and this post isn't about either (I'll get to them soon). It's also April 1st, which means it's time for the monthly playlist. This month's is called "Dance, Motherfucker" and it's a list of songs that always make me want to dance (not necessarily dance songs, mind you). Hope you find a few that you like. Enjoy!

It's already that time again! This month's playlist is called "Girls" and will hopefully be the only playlist in this experiment that breaks the (admittedly self imposed) 12-song rule. Unfortunately, the Girls just wouldn't play along, and despite weeks of attempts, I could only get this thing down to 15 songs. It started at 41, ballooned to over 60, and worked it's way back down slowly achingly.
These aren't the 15 best girl songs ever made, or even tied to a genre really. These are just 15 songs from female bands, artists, or bands fronted by women, that I've been listening to a lot lately, and who I think are maybe not super known, but deserve to be heard. It's also been a tremendous source of inspiration, if I keep these playlists going past the this year. 2019 will be full of playlists like "about girls" and "lo-fi girls" etc etc.
So here it is. Hope you like it. I'll be back next month with a playlist a little more specific.

Howdy Ya'll (which is a thing we say in Texas, without irony)
Tomorrow we're having a "Geoff Line" drop, but this one is a little different than the usual fare. It's called "Simple Geoff", and it will be the first stocked shirt in my line.
The idea behind the Geoff line of merch, is that the limited nature of the items A) appeals to my love of collecting things, but more importantly B) allows us the flexibility of trying out new and different ideas, while limiting the risk associated with buying large amounts of stock (as we traditionally do), freeing us up to be more creative.
To that end, I know there are a lot of you that can't be parked on the internet on a Friday, waiting for my dumb stuff to drop, so we've come up with this idea.
Completely in addition to the normal Geoff stuff that drops in limited quantities, we will have one constant shirt, a "Simple Geoff" shirt if you will, that is continually available for purchase, and rotates out on a quarterly basis. So, Feb 16th will be the first iteration of that. It's a knife logo pocket tee in green (shown below), that will be for sale until roughly Q2 2018, where we will refresh and change it in some way, and sell that version.
Does that make any sense? I'll try a TLDR: Normal Geoff line will continue to function as always, with the addition of a quarterly "Simple Geoff" shirt you can pick up whenever, and not have to worry about missing the drop. Hopefully this will satisfy collectors and non-collectors alike! If you have any questions about this journal (and only this journal), please ask them here and I will try and answer.
P.S. There's a hat dropping tomorrow that IS LIMITED.

So it's barely February, but I have to get past this fucking playlist so I can move on with my life. My big reservation with doing this, was that I would overthink it and spend way too much time obsessing over it. WHICH I HAVE DONE. I have listened to, edited, added to, subtracted from, changed the order of, changed it back, then changed it again, about 50 times in the last two weeks.
Hopefully the theme of the playlist comes through. Actually, there's two: a main (hopefully obvious) theme, and a smaller, kind of silly and gratuitous theme (also obvious).
Or, maybe it's just a pile of songs I like. Either way, here it is.

So my New Years Resolution has been to post here more often, hence the AMA I did this month. In trying to figure out how to do it in a more structured and regular way, I struck upon an idea. People seem to enjoy it when I occasionally post Songs of the Day to Twitter, so instead of continuing that, why not move it to here? I've decided to create a playlist on Spotify each month, themed around a particular subject, and post it here. I realize I'm starting off a little late, but here we go:
Let me know if you hate the idea, and don't want me to continue.

I’m stuck on airplanes most of today, and thought a nifty little AMA would be a productive way to spend my time. If anyone’s got any questions, fire away. If not, I’ll just sit here quietly and stare out the window.
EDIT: Ok! Thanks for helping me pass the time. I had fun. Hope you did too!
For posterity, this is what I was listening to during this AMA: fun song, fun band:

The Let’s Play Family Reunion is right around the corner, which means that now is a great time to sign up for a FREE 30-day trial if you aren’t already a FIRST member.
From September 24-25, some of your favorite Let’s Play family members will be stuck in a house together for a weekend of streaming, podcasts, and shenanigans. That’s Achievement Hunter, Funhaus, Cow Chop, Sugar Pine 7, Kinda Funny, and Criken all under one roof. It will be chaos, and FIRST members get to watch it go down live on the Rooster Teeth site.
Speaking of chaos, we’re doing a Chaos Drive to help raise the stakes for the Let’s Play Family Reunion. Sign up for a FIRST membership before September 24 to help unlock these additional perks:

Ok, I’ll be honest with you. I did not write that. Marketing has been up my ass all month to write a journal about the Reunion thing, and apparently they just gave up on me, which is fine. Totally fine. Not doing stuff people expect of me is like having a mini orgasm to me.
It probably IS a good idea to sign up though. Also, Becca sure makes me sound smart, and hey! being smart is better than not being smart, or so I’m told. So if you also want to be smart, sign up for FIRST or whatever. According to my (not my) words above, it’s a great deal or some shit. Whatever, I don’t care…
Maybe I care a little.

So for Theater Mode; you want more indie films and low production films rather than fuckin 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures produced movies right? Just trying to solidly get down what you want.
