For Monty. Whilst it is a song clearly for Freddie Mercury, the words mean the same thing.

    • The Velocity Kinetics Project

As someone of a petrolsexual persuasion (petrol head or gear head) I have always enjoyed blogging about things automotive especially Formula 1.

In the last few months I have embarked on a new project with a friend from the USA. It is again motoring related and available here [link=] The person I run this with owns the company that is the title sponsor of the John Baucom driven car in Trans Am, Road Race Parts.

Well what is it? Well with F1 turning more towards green with smaller turbo engines, Formula-E starting off it is a place we try to discuss all things green. The twist? Well there is no twist, other than for the most part it is mostly video. Filmed with my Nikon D3200 against a green piece of fabric I bought for £3. At present most of the posts are F1 related but I am aiming to bring it back to more road car related topics.

I don't usually like publicizing it as I feel if the content is good enough people will find it. However most people on here are open minded to the content other people make, so head over and look.

    • Little bit of faith restored via GTAV

I recently posted about a few problems that I had been having with GTAV online and it was based on my own experiences as well as what I had heard off other people. Now I still play it pretty often but that is partially due to being a tiny bit lazy but also none of my games at the moment are grabbing me in the way the GTA campaign or the Halo 4 campaign did at present.

However I was playing online last night, it was a Lester mission and I took a leap of faith playing with other people. It was a mission that I thought had glitched out as no cargobobs could be located anywhere until I jumped into the airbase with a passenger of Xbox origin but not much else known about them. I then had to escape the base with this passenger and a 4 star wanted level. Not the best thing in the world for me as I am not the best pilot in that game. Something to do with patience and not being bad at the game.

Anyhoo, cargobob was got, 4 star wanted level, unknown if the unknown guy in the helicopter was trying to shoot the chasing helicopters down as I had 3 on me when we left the air base and 3 on me when we got to the airport. Suffice it to say that the helicopter caught fire, the other guy died and I had to abandon ship and shoot out on the beach where my body played catch with some bullets and promptly washed out to sea until it was mission end. The other guy in the mission had flown around then eventually finished the mission with us spectating, 23k earned in game, enough for about 5 bullets but a refreshing change to have people who saw it through to the end.

My faith was restored simply because after the game I messaged the guy to say good job on finishing the mission solo. We have had and still are having some nice messaging back and forths and I have discovered that he is also an AH fan after I quoted a Ray quote I like "abandon ship" (ok, it's not really the quote, more the way Ray says it).

The point is, it is refreshing to run across someone who isn't an arsehole on GTAV and indeed Xbox live as a whole.

    • GTAV online

Now I know this is not a new thing, and many will be surprised after the monumental balls up that GTAV has had online that people are still playing it at all. From watching the Lets Play videos it sounds like Ray has had a few problems with it...putting it politely.

I play GTAV a lot online, however that is maybe for 20/30 minutes at a time before I've had enough. The lack of heists doesn't bother me, I personally thought the campaign relied on them too much. The problem I have with it is partly the people who play GTAV online a lot, the people who go nuts blow up your car shoot you randomly and you just can't for whatever reason get them back, although in my case probably a lack of skill and lack of stealth.

My other problem with it is the economy Ryan mentioned it more than once on The Patch, its just too skewed and screwed. Spending more on ammo to do a job than you earn from it, JP that seems to mean nothing to anyone, car parts that cost a small fortune just for the tiniest of upgrades.

I'll try to make my point about the economy being screwed using cars as an example. In the campaign I had a Sultan, a Subaru Impreza in the real world. Online I have one also but online I have deliberately put the body styling on to make it look like an Impreza. I spent online to get it with a level 2 engine mod, level 1 brakes, level 1 transmission, lowered suspension and armor MORE than it cost me in the campaign to do out the car entirely. I appreciate online you have to win races to get parts, but if you want to race to win it means being annoying to other players or allowing custom vehicles so you have the advantage. So then there is an eternal circle of need to race to get more parts, need to win to get them, not winning, need to race more. Why can't they all be related to your level in the online and cost much much less.

I realise this sounds like a lot of people who play GTA online but I will add my voice to the "Rockstar, sort your sh*t out!" bandwagon

I have a few different projects on the go at the moment. I part run a blog called Velocity Kinetics which looks into going green, racing, cars in general. I also have my Stormspace side bit. Problem is I keep having ideas for both and not much time to allow me to do either to the extent I like.

Hopefully I can focus some more time to both now, but we'll see.

      Hi guys,

I'm currently working on a short video, a short comedic monologue sketch, which I wrote at work on saturday. The sketch itself is in a Ronnie Barker style, to the point of when I was writing it I could almost hear him saying it.

The problem I have is the monologue is around 2500 words long, too much for me to memorize. I was planning to write it out in Premier and play it back full screen, any suggestions on the sort of speed that would be best to work from? Also I have a camera dilemma. I have a HD webcam, which I think I could use to film off, but I also have a handy cam, a Vivitar 638HD, problem is with that there is a lot of noise in the image when using HD (as demonstrated in this video I recorded with my brother I am in 2 minds whether to go HD or standard. I will have to do audio separately because, well the camera only cost me £22.

Any suggestions that are constructive would be handy and much appreciated :)

As people a very few people maybe aware I have been trying to get some machinima videos off the ground through Stormspace Productions (just the name we use for videos, not a professional production company despite having a website and emails that may make it sound otherwise). The main project I have been trying to get off the ground is a machinima series based in GTA4 called "Where's My Liberty?" however need people and another female voice to get that off the ground.

Recently though as Stormspace, we have been doing what we call "Stormspace Does" which in layman's terms is a lets play, but I will bet a pound to a penny that at the moment they may only be giggle worthy not full on doubled over laughter that I get from the AH guys. We have thus far got "Plants vs Zombies" 2 parts done by Peter playing on a PC. There is "Minecraft" called 'Got Wood' with another one coming shortly called 'Master Bate' done by me on PC. There is also Gears of War 3, which is just me on Xbox 360 playing through the campaign, 1 video up at the moment, many hours of my failures still to go. However that is when other commitments don't come up. I love doing these videos, but I have to keep a roof over my head, I need to pay my bills, and unless Rooster Teeth or AH come knocking on my door which will for now only remain a daydream, the videos will not becoming out as fast as they should.

There has also been an interim sketch which basically started out as a green screen Minecraft test. My thought process was that there is green wool in Minecraft, surely you can cut out something that isn't a Creeper and add it into what you're doing. Its a test that I am pleased with but I know it could be more.

We also got our first 2 sketches out, live action skits this is. I have done machinima one off's before but not live action. The first sketch Peter and I had planned when he visited me in Middlesbrough, where he cloned himself. The camera we were using was not expensive, it cost £22 including a price reduction. It's a Vivitar DVR 638HD. The initial plan was to have many clones of Peter in the video, however the camera limited the numbers we could do, plus the video quality was not the greatest. However I am very pleased with how Peter made that one turn out, you can tell he has been doing video editing for a long time now and hopefully he will excel in his degree which involves it. The other live action was an after thought, sort of a wrangling the clones for want of a better phrase. I cut that one together and I will say it is not as slick as Peter's editing. Also there is one fairly noticeable area where the footage didn't match up, but it is less obvious than it could have been. Hopefully we can continue to get better at the videos and who knows, maybe...just'll come to us...that cheque from for $25 when we make it that far.

To view our stuff check out our channel (don't worry, it is safe). Give them a view and let me know what you think, assuming you have your own cognitive functionality and can form opinions of your own. Have a good whatever time of day it is :)

P.S. I would like to apologise in some of the stuff we do that reference RT and AH, its what inspires a lot of my comedy as well as the classics of Ronnie Barker & Ronnie Corbett, Tommy Cooper and more modern people like Ross Noble.

I am reaching out to the RT community again as I need another voice actress for a machinima series I am working on. If you're interested give me a message. Only thing that is required is to be ok with some rude/dirty jokes (as some scenes are just those) and be ok with swearing, although this character doesn't swear (off the top of my head)

      Have a good evening

  • About Me

Hi I'm Chris, currently working for a high street bank in the UK and making my own sketch/lets play style videos under the guise of Stormspace Productions. I am a massive petrol head, love most cars. Like to read, I am a massive fan of Michael Crichton books. My music tastes in some ways are very narrow, but I know what I like and I love live albums. Like to play Xbox, mixture of games there, occasionally play PS3 or PC. As a fan of Williams F1, I would have to say my loyalty runs with the Blue team...we have a tank!
