Greetings to all current and future FIRST Double Gold members! And happy Fourth of July to all of our fans here in the U.S.
First of all, we’d like to apologize once again for any inconvenience caused by the delayed shipping of the June RT Box. We had a few difficulties this time around, including tech issues, sourcing for merchandise, and personnel changes. We’ll do our best to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
On a more positive note, we have some exciting news to share! Beginning in 2018, we’re going to make some pretty big changes to how FIRST Double Gold membership works. With so much planning left, we can’t really give any details yet, but let it be known that as soon as more information is available, we’ll be rolling it out to everyone.
One of the first updates we have to make in order to roll out next year’s changes is removing the 6-month Double Gold membership option. New members probably already saw that there was no 6-month option when signing up.
If you’re a current Double Gold member, I bet you’re wondering how this affects you. Take a look at this handy dandy FAQ…
I’m a 6-month FIRST Double Gold member. What happens now?
You will be contacted via email before your membership end date with information on how to re-sign up for Double Gold on the 1-month plan, or a regular FIRST membership. If you decide to do nothing, you’ll drop down to whatever your subscription status was prior to signing up for Double Gold.
I’m a 1-month FIRST Double Gold member. What happens now?
Nothing. You will continue to be a 1-month Double Gold member as long as you have auto-renew on. If things change with our new plan for next year, we’ll let you know well in advance.
I’m a FIRST member. Does this mean I can’t sign up for Double Gold?
No! You can still sign up for Double Gold, but your only option is the 1-month plan.
If you have any other questions, drop ‘em down here in the comments! @Chelsea and I will be popping in to make sure everyone knows as much as they can right now.
