Things to Do In: Mass Effect Andromeda - Biotic Teachings

With all the crazy powers in Mass Effect Andromeda it's easy to understand why new species would think you're dangerous. But if you just stop for a minute and use your power to teach the species how to fit in with your society everything can be totally different. Afterall, in this galaxy you're the aliens.

Is the dumb walk thing a console thing? I've never seen this on PC version and I'm a good 30 hours into the game now... :/

no, it happen in all the versions. it's a bug that needs a trigger like clipping into a wall and 180 sprint away and then walk slowly, there are other things that can cause many of these things but i have played over 35 hours and only seen one long neck Jall walking like a crab, it went away after cut scene.

I haven't run into this by accident in all the time I have been playing. The worst odd animation i've come across is on the Nexus going up ramps and what not with him acting like he's moving across rough terrain. Like he is hopping from rock to rock.

The "dancing" is drone by rolling movement direction in a circle quickly, I always start it with a sprint but I'm not sure it's necessary. That one might require a controller or just be more difficult on keyboard (I was doing it on Xbox 1 a couple days ago).

The cowboy walk looks like it's done sort of the same way by wagging movement left and right, perhaps while continuously activating sprint.

It seems to me you have to be actively trying to make your character's movement look silly. I've only ran into one silly walk on accident, and it had to do with sprinting on top of a medi-gel container, then falling off, while  both still holding sprint and doing a sharp turn. My character basically was locked into zombie mode until I simply stopped sprinting. I couldn't even recreate it.

My one complaint is that we only have three skills we can actively have equipped, because there are so many good ones available and using them all in combination without having to swap them out would be awesome.....

You can set up favorite profiles you can select from the weapon selection wheel. It allows you to have different Profiles plus different power sets.

The game isn't anywhere near as broken as people tend to claim it is. Does it have it's occasional glitches? Yes. But then again, what game these days doesn't? It is a little bit more so than previous Mass Effect games, but people tend to let their nostalgia blind them as to how "perfect" the previous ones are. There are a lot of bugs and awkwardness at times in those games. The bugs in Andromeda don't really cause a problem with the over all experience, and it's a really fun game. So much so that it's the only game I've been playing recently where I'm fully planning on doing a second playthrough of as soon as I finish my first. The last time I had that experience with a long game, was probably Mass Effect 3, since while with most RPGs when you finish, you feel like you're done, but with Andromeda and the series in general, you just want to see how different your game experience might have been had you played a different style. For example, I love biotic powers in Mass Effect, but I haven't touched most of them in my current playthrough because there's other skills that I've enjoyed quite a bit...

Andromeda kind of reminds me of Mass Effect 1. In the first one the gameplay was ok but the story aspect really shined. With Andromeda the gameplay is a lot of fun but the story suffers. Its just not as tight of a narrative. You do gain a lot of freedom however. It can be a bit overwhelming too.

Overall I am really enjoying the game.

@Gamer3427 You make valid points and while you aren't wrong, I still have to disagree with what you're trying to say. I played the original ME games to death, still love them in-spite of the so-so ending. That being said, on today's console, ESPECIALLY after seeing what Horizon Zero Dawn can do in terms of graphics, I expect better than this from my game developers. I don't just speak in terms of ME, I mean in general. Walk cycles and facial animations should be second nature by now, there is almost no excuse for it. I fully believe in the practice of "if a game is not ready, don't release it" and this game clearly wasn't ready yet.
