If your dryer isn't drying jeans the problem might actually be the washer not spinning correctly (ie. removing enough water from them during the washing process) instead of the dryer not working

I've met plenty of Christians and Atheists who are ignorant and moronic. As well as Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. Also some of their intelligent counterparts. But It's not what we believe in that makes us ignorant, it's just typical human nature that does not discriminate.

the act of hanging up clothes is wild to me, i've never seen it around where i live. i think at most i've seen people hang up stuff that's too big for a dryer, but otherwise most people have machines or access to a laundromat in my town

I'm just going to say that it honestly depends on where you live, I used to live in Mexico and the only  times I needed to use a dryer was when ever it rained, but otherwise I just hung my clothes on a line, but yes it does seem wild that in this day and age some people still prefer to hang their clothes to dry.

Living here in Texas, putting clothes on a clothes line means you will have muddy clothing. The dust blows up onto the wet clothes and you get mud.

I mean, Michael has a valid point that many Christians have viewed Jesus as the "god of the gaps" in modern times and lots of notable times in the past, (e.g. stories of Galileo, anti-evolution, and the like), but as a whole the Bible gives very little reason to think of him like that. Many Christians actually use their beliefs as a basis for exploring the world and discovering more. I know this comment isn't funny at all, but even Christians get stereotyped for jokes, and I thought I'd just share some inside knowledge. Oh boy, here come the lame ratings.

Hey Matt, are you removing the lint from the catch? If you don't it won't dry (no clue why).

    • Kllerman

I can confirm that it's necessary to remove the lint from the catch, other wise the chance that the dryer will catch on fire will increase, I've seen it happen (not to me but to friends who didn't follow basic instructions) and it's not pretty.

for the dryer the door does just flip over (at least for older dryers and washing machines, I'm not sure about new fancy ones)

Thread count is NOT everything. Most people don't tend to find any discernible differences once you get past 1000 thread count. I've more thoroughly enjoyed some 300 thread count sheets more than I have some 600. There's a lot that goes into it, and personal preference and climate can play a big part in it

Yeah. I was curious, so I checked out the Consumer Reports take on thread count. Apparently a 280 count sheet won their top rating not long ago, and 400 seems to be the sweet spot. More than 400 is pretty much a marketing gimmick.

Something to think about, there is a difference between ignorance, and stupidity. Cavemen were likely as smart, if not more so, than we are. In the absence of advanced science, and technology, people had to be more flexible. There are people today who can't find their way to a location 10 miles down the road with a GPS, and a car, on premade roads. Cavemen could find a location hundreds of miles away, on foot, just from memory. We know this because the first agriculture was started by hunter-gatherers planting in one season, following the animals to a new location, and returning to the same place months later to gather the crops. A caveman could probably learn to use a smartphone faster than my mother.

"Cavemen were likely as smart, if not more so, than we are. " No, not at all. Not even close.

@swordking123 And you know this how? If you plan on citing the Flynn effect, don't bother. First of all, IQ is not the same as intelligence. IQ measures abstract reasoning, among other things. Intelligence is the ability to acquire and utilize knowledge. Second of all, the Flynn effect does not necessarily apply to hunter gatherers. A number of studies have shown that the onset of the Neolithic Revolution changed our bodies considerably.

We know some of the things hunter gatherers were capable of doing. They were not stupid, just ignorant.

Can't wait for the post show!  This weeks Off Topic was really great.  I think that Geoff should read the fan tweets every week.  His interaction with the audience was a highlight of the episode, and he seemed to enjoy just as much as us fans did.  geoff
