Wario and Waluigi come from the word 悪い (warui; bad). In romanized Japanese, everything you see written with an "R" is really pronounced more like a combination of making the sounds of "R" and "L" at the same time (which is where the whole thing about people mixing the two up comes from). In Japanese, Luigi is ルイージ (Ruiiji) and Waluigi is ワルイージ (Waruiiji), so it works a lot better.

waluigi actually makes sense in japanese; it's supposed to be a pun/portmanteau of bad and luigi, so it's literally bad-igi

Albus being a rogue does fit pretty well with the character, when Ryan mentioned he was changing class I thought that might be what he'd choose now its just more stabbing in addition to the magic, and the crazy plans he comes up with fits with the rogue being a skill monkey

Ryan should have rolled double the sneak attack die as well as double the weapon damage for the critical hit as per the players hand book page 196

Love you Ryan, but Warlocks are cool.

Pact of the Chain is somewhat underpowered though.

Why didn't Gus just say that Bor Ealis was cursed to be a dwarf until he learns to not be a racist? Personally, I feel like it would be a better reason than "I'm a dwarf now, don't mind that I'm half a foot shorter."

I agree.  Or what if maybe something severe happened to his physical body so that he had to do like a soul/mind transplant into a dwarven body to save his life.

Or maybe he died and got reincarnated as a hill Dwarf, and that forever changed his belief system.

He became something he hated (not human) and that forced him to change.

I can appreciate a degree of self-awareness to the fact that they still made constant references to the first "volume".

However, this simply is not a more inclusive show than it was an episode ago.

They spent so much god damn time making a big deal out of things that are only big deal worthy in context. Otherwise, it just goes completely over new peoples heads. Oh and, nothing is fucking happening.

The over arcing narrative wasn't really the problem in my opinion.

Here's what I think is the problem.

The people who already liked the show, want longer episodes. The people who didn't said each episode takes too long and nothing happens.

The people who already liked the show enjoyed when the characters talk a lot. The people who didn't said it was boring and they never got anywhere.

And then there are people who for whatever reason just won't watch something as "nerdy" as DnD.

The last group of people they'll never be able to reach.

The first two are at odds with where they can take the show.

Change is fine. I don't mind change. New characters, different classes, whatever. That's great and as a long time viewer, more power to you.

But I doubt more people will be attracted to this show.

I mean there are literal on-going narrative lines that are directly evolved from the canonical events of the previous "volume." People are completely out of the loop besides the five seconds dedicated to Frank desperately trying to fill in the context.

I like that they reference the first volume so much, it gives each character depth and the feeling that they're actually ongoing and "real" Instead of these short stories like black mirror for example. Sure you feel bad for them at the time, but with no time invested you don't really give a shit.

I'm pretty sure frank meant that this is inclusive in the idea that you don't need to watch the last 30some episodes to understand whats going on in the new story. It adds value if you've seen all the episodes but it isn't needed.

Also to talk about your points on people liking and disliking the show. That's just how things are, the biggest difference I'd say is that a fair amount of the viewers of this show buy first memberships and are "actively" paying to watch heroes and halfwits. I know that's the reason why I brought mine. The views wont be as large in number compared to other shows but it has a strong following, that are a bit older and have money to spend on RT.

If Ryan thinks that Warlocks just get worse as they level, he clearly didn't understand how to play one.

(And just what's wrong with Pact of the Chain? : D )

Actually, Waluigi works really well I think. The reason why they have the "wa" is in Japanese the word for bad is 悪い (warui). Since Japanese doesn't have "R" or "L" they become interchangeable in romanization, so they are both puns on the same word along with the name of their counterpart.

It doesn't really come through in English though.

I'm curious to know if Orma won't be switching out anymore now that she's sober, is Griffin perma-Orma now or is there a new mechanic to rotate players?

Could be every time she goes down in battle (which won't be often) or whenever she sleeps. But I think Griffon permanently being orma is more likely

They briefly did in one episode. I believe that Sammy Stonekill, (? the guy that accompanied them to the boss fight.) said that they were a group in a different time line and their big boss battle to save the world reset their plain of existence and basically restarted their lives with no memory of the previous. But since Rib Cage is on a different plain of existence people there would remember "The Famous Bo Jingles."

I still want them to explain why Bo Jingles was already famous before they got to Rib Cage

When they met Stonykill Sam in the previous volume he explained that he knew them when they were older but the time line got erased to prevent an enemy from controlling it and he ended up in Ribcage before their younger selves first arrived.

    • Gildarts FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold That Guy

Definitely from the previous timeline. Canonically, they went on adventures during which Bo Jingles learned about burning stuff [at some point Bo becomes famous] then the reset happened followed by them being conscripted. Then they traveled the forest during which Bo stabs at nature followed by the village and moon magic test. After leaving the village Na does her empathic stuff and Bo runs off to cry. Bo gets replaced during his cry at a location just outside Albus' range of sight(from the orb of light or whatnot). Now the Yaksha joins the group thinking of itself as BJ, everything else happens that we see in the episodes and they fight the Rajah where the Yaksha switch is revealed.

This means that everyone in Ribcage knows of the actual Bo Jingles and not the Yaksha impostor.

      Fun trivia:

*In a post show or start of V2's recap bit it is mentioned that no one witnessed the switch so no one has confirmed that BJ is actually dead. Though his blood was consumed to allow the shape changing to occur.

*The Rajah was classified as a construct. So it may have been made by the Green Alchemist.

You think Waluigi's L was bad? I was working for Nationwide Insurance when some company was paid ridiculous amounts of money to come up with a square. Not just any square, either. A hollow square. They called it, "The Living Frame."

It was a light-blue square. Everyone in the building felt that someone got scammed. Then again, we're talking about a company that, at the time, was in the process of delaying Y2K by 30 years. (A little over 12 more years to go. I wonder if they ever changed to some incremental time code like pretty much everyone else has done.)

Now, they returned to the Eagle that they had previously. The same Eagle, too.

Apparently the file was bad, and is being worked on. It's been reuploaded, and is currently transcoding. ( The link from the reddit post still takes you to it, and the comments are talking about it. ) Apparently it's a really big file though...
