I read some of the comments before hand and assumed people were overreacting but that did get a little annoying after awhile. Shit on someone for a little while but when you can tell that they are no longer having a good time then you need to stop.

    Hilarious ad goblin btw.

I think a large majority of commenters are on Ryan's side which is cool and all.  One thing I would like to point out is that Michael made a comment on a early post-show where he acknowledged that as a paladin - Gus and Michael should stop Ryan's excesses.  Michael pointed out Ryan would argue with them endlessly so they just indulge him here and there so they can move on.

So in terms of the alignment debate - I still see Ryan as Evil.  Gus and Michael do stop a lot of Ryan's nonsense like trying to get the two women to kill the rapist in the sewer.  Likewise, Gus prevented Ryan from running his scams/angles in the clothing run for the most part outside of the facade of being the Duke Royale so they can retrieve the Spymaster.

For Ryan to be truly Chaotic Neutral - he would need to occasionally do Good.  Even saving Quork (Cork?) could be framed as a self-serving act which is not exactly outside the bounds of being Evil. He is also constantly reinforcing his image as the one to help the "too good" people in the party by being a better liar or manipulator.

Bor and Mogar, for sure, with the caveat above are not acting within the strict bounds of true Lawful Goodness.  That said, they are also conscripted soldiers in a imperial war against a more or less innocent kingdom.  It is nice that the city's ruler appears to be a evil bastard that needs to be kicked over.

In terms of how much of the episode their shitting on Albus/Ryan takes - Ryan is keeping this going too by complaining more about the argument rather than letting them move on.  Their party does not trust him and he can't seem to accept that.

I do agree that Frank should let Ryan know his alignment even if it means an hour argument about how Albus is "not evil".

This episode feels like it should be on the verge of a breaking point.  Not in that the show should end, far from it, but that the DM needs to step up, evaluate the table, and act.

-Bo's alignment should have long since changed (if it hasn't already or been all along) to Chaotic Evil for all the destruction he's caused and the Paladins, knowing of it, should have acted against him long before now (and with an alignment change, they will be obligated to act against him).  This would free Geoff up to do what he really wanted all along, to co-DM and play as recurring antagonists, while somebody else joins the party.

-Bor's alignment should be shifted to Lawful Neutral at the least, and arguably Lawful Evil or even Neutral Evil with a loss of his paladin abilities.  He only really acts lawful with regards to Albus and otherwise frequently turns his back on (what he considers) evil or chaotic acts in his own self interest, not to mention has yet to do anything which might be considered remotely good or selfless and frequently talks against such things.  As a paladin the willful ignorance is a huge no-no.  More to the point though is it feels like Gus is meta gaming to play himself and Frank doesn't wish to punish him (or Geoff for that matter) because they're most likely to sabotage the game...even though it's gotten to the point where they're already doing this (like the casino, which had a ton of setup for good roleplaying and dissolved into a disorganized bloodbath because Geoff wanted to show up the other group for meta reasons and Gus just wanted to fight).

-If the DM wants to change a party member's alignment he's got to let them know.  Apparently Frank changed Albus to Neutral Evil without ever saying anything.  Thing is, Ryan still thinks he's Chaotic Neutral and has been acting as such pretty much the entire time.  I don't even agree with the change (hell, he should have been warned before the change was made) but to do so without the player having any inkling is going to cause larger arguments in the long run, especially when the player himself believes he's acting in alignment and has good argument to back it up.

I said this before I think Albus is going to use his Sprite familiar to find out Bojingle's alignment is Chaotic Evil. Then we find out the fire in the jungle he started was him burning a dead body (or a survivor) near the ship wreck in worship of his God. Think about it all the fires happen where dead bodies are near. the Ship, the Drow caves, the casino, the house.

I agree that Bor should have his alignment changed.

I know Frank can run the game as he wants but I really don't like the idea of him changing the alignments of the players without telling them when it happens, also I agree that he should allude to the fact that a player is getting close to the edge of having there alignment change but only after they have taken an action that has brought them to the limits of there alignment.

Don't get me wrong this argument is hilarious, but Albus did take the smokey gem when the entire party was against it, he did change his mind about giving a defeated drow slaver some water - just to blast him (in front of the other slaver to make a point I think), he did want to torture some other slavers (albeit to prevent those 2 girls from getting their hands dirty) just before the party reached jackalheart from the sewers.

But '"everyone'" wanted to 'liberate' the gold and valuables from a gang leader's casino in addition to their main goal... and that ended in lots of blood, fire, and hopefully more unforeseen circumstances (I still want to know about that other dragonborn in the fighting pit)

Hey guy's let's list the things both Albus(Ryan) and Bo Jingles(Geoff) have done shall we?

Geoff - Set's fire to the jungle, village, casino, House, essentially everywhere they've been. Kept secrets from the party and dated a mutant that had the intention of killing the entire party. What did he receive for this? a few harsh words and the equivalent of a slap on the wrist.

Ryan - Stole one gem from a drunken dwarf, and wanted to kill 'innocent' slavers that already admitted that they would've gone back to slaving if left alive and possibly (More like defiantly) sent more slavers after them. And what did Ryan recieve? 2 2 hour episodes of arguments and blame.

Not to mention Geoff mentioned in the post show that Ryan was starting to get really angry and not just in game angry, to which Gus replies "I know and i'm loving it" Hence meaning that Gus was doing it for meta reasons. And the childish act of "I'm not fighting the next battle" really gus? so you say you're a man of god and spread kindness and good deads, yet you have a demonic partner that sets fire to everything, you're openly racist and litterally cause shit for your own enjoyment, yet you give Ryan so much shit for stealing one gem.

If this is how future episodes are going to go, sorry guys but it's going to fall apart pretty damn quickly.

Bor/Gus is playing quite an accurate representation of a devout "holy" man, historically speaking. Hypocritical, childish, unwilling to compromise or accept blame.

I'm 97% on Ryan's side. Killing the slavers was the right call, regardless of the promise. Unless those slaves were previously horrifying criminals, then slavery deserves an instantaneous death.

Stealing the gem, ah well, Albus/Ryan is Chaotic Neutral so he's gotta have some bad tendencies.

It's Bo's/Geoff's fault the dragon came in the first place, albeit not exactly lore-wise, but who would've known that such a gemstone would bring about such a large danger? Hindsight is 20/20 and all that jazz. It becomes a party decision after such danger reveals itself, so now that they know it's dangerous, it's up to everyone to come together and agree what to do with the item. If it were me, I'd hang on to it as opposed to selling it. I'd like to figure out what it can be used for, despite the danger.

In short Bo jingles is evil, Bor at the very least is objectively not lawful good anymore, and Ryan is probably the best or second best team member above or below Griffon.

How is it not obvious Bo Jingles is not part of this team. I mean he is actively trying to turn the party on Ryan who I think is both the most in character and probably the best member of the team. He's always trying to work ways out of their problems (gets shit on for talking too much). I think the only selfish thing he's done is steal that gem and try to sneak the others and the worst thing he did was killing that guy they were interrogating which at worst was chaotic neutral because it was purely for the good of the party. Bor is in ways more evil than Ryan he was fine with Bo Jingles setting fire to the place with all those caged slaves, now is refusing to participate in fights where teammates might die, he in-actively tried to kill QUARK by refusing to heal him. Not to mention he literally sells out Ryan the first change he gets.

Still a great show and I am glad they are trying new thing! The only issue is, I think it should go back to a one hour once a week show. While the two hour block is great I think there is too much of a break between episodes. They could have a two hour episodes for special occasions but to be honest, either way I am gonning to keep watching. Keep up the great work.

Because they're all being extremely hypocritical and giving Ryan a bunch of shit over a gem. Gus is supposed to be a paladin a man who fights for justice and kind deeds, yet he stands there and acts like a spoiled brat, "NO, I DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU DID SO I'M NOT FIGHTING WITH YOU ANYMORE"

I'm glad a lot of the comments are saying it, this episode was trash. The hypocrisy of the entire group shitting on Ryan was unbearable. Although knowing some of the people in the group (Michael, Geoff and Gus) they'll see these comments and try to take the shitting on Ryan up a notch. Those three, I feel, tend to see comments and instead of changing they just double down on them.

Frank is really playing favorites here. He defends Bor Ealis and Bo Jingles while attacking Albus constantly. Even going to the lengths of taking Bo's meta gaming punishment and turning it into an attack on Albus.

anyways I think that Albus is more neutral than evil because all his bad is either for self gain or for the good of the party, he never intentionally puts any allies or innocents in danger and would be a chaotic good except for the occasional selfish moment which is not at all evil it's pure neutral.

Meanwhile paladin Bor Ealis is acting like a real evil mofo threatening party members acting only for himself and never intervening when his vows are being broken. He makes huge judgments and leverages his participation in combat for personal gains. Whenever he wants something evil done he doesn't fight it he just gets other people to do it. I would say that Bor Ealis is a lawful neutral character.

This series has very quickly become my favorite RoosterTeeth content, and I've never played D&D nor watched any other D&D related content. It's funny, it's cool, and it's got an interesting story as well.

I'm also really glad the cast seems to enjoy playing this campaign as well. It's cool to see how they react when they are threatened by the death of their characters that they've gotten attached to.

EDIT: I do hope they don't try to mess with Ryan too much though. It's kind of funny in small bursts, but I really don't want the experience to be ruined or for this to become something that any one cast member doesn't want to do.

Knowing the plight of an evil character constantly, being called out for things in the past that everyone agreed on at the time, Ryan is the only one NOT meta-gaming at this point. In the episode in question when Ryan killed the three slaver Drow Gus knowingly turned his back on the decision making because he realized it was a loose loose for him. As a paladin he had the ability to save and protect those in danger. as it takes 6 seconds for each co'degra. Alowing innocence to be murdered, as hes arguing Ryan (and the party was reaching that conclusion anyways) did, would also remove him from the paladin order. Ryan on the other hand never intentionally endangered the party, Unlike Bo Jingles who has endangered the party, killed innocence, and destroyed establishments through his constant use of fire. Gus has had no issue with such senseless destruction but has put such importance on one gem, from someone they lied to as a whole anyways, Again, against the paladin code. A gem mind you, that was taken as anything else would have been, because Ryan didn't know about the drougar or there tendencies or the importance of the gem. Also the only reason Ryan lies is to Protect the party, even those who he does not see eye to eye with. While Gus as a member of a holy order, Has endangered the party because of minor issues, exadurated by significant meta-gaming. Whats happening is the constant issue of nobody trusts a rogue because hes a rogue, in this case a warlock but the bluffing and sticky fingers still apply, which is meta-gaming. Something as a dm and player i always struggled with. But each character had lives before the group and a gem such as that, unless out of game bias was applied towards Ryan, would not of risen such a suspicion. Although i do agree that Ryan is far more Lawful Evil because of his actions. None of which is any more serious than simple theft and doing what the party has agreed apon. UNLIKE Geoff who has no regard to party safety or property damage or public safety. as his fires would likely start others and kill many more in the process. Or Michael who on several occasions has conducted himself as an agent of chaos, Public indecency, agreeing and not stopping the murder of 3 seemingly innocent slavers, if Gus is to be belaved. The only person actually not Meta-gaming wold be Griffon and shes actually chaotic. AND A BARBARIAN. I think everyone but Ryan and Griffon deserves a meta-gaming punishment as even the dm at this point has a bias against him and hasn't stopped the meta-gaming like he should. Also an apology. And a free level for Ryan. #Ryansinnocent

This isn't a good episode in the slightest when a lot of the piling on Ryan takes up so much unnecessary time than it could have, not even mentioning how they shouldn't have even been doing it compared to how Geoff's character has been acting. Stealing a gem is not worse than burning down whatever place you go to, getting manipulated by a young girl disguised to be a fucking mongoloid nutcase, and he then steals a magical orb/thing that puts the party in danger. It's all silly and stupid and it's not even entertaining to watch as an audience member, let alone being familiar with the behavior as a player. I'll be waiting for Albus to get more powerful so he can retaliate more seriously when the party comes down on him as hard as they did this time around.

Not a good episode. The piling on Ryan was ridiculous and hearing Geoff and Gus say they were trying to make him legitimately angry in the post show is worse. If they had the argument once thats great its funny the first time. The next 5 times not so much. If this is the direction this show is headed I'm gonna drop it really fast. Twits and Crits isn't as good but at least you know everyone there is having fun.
