I saw this video on the site and channel when it first came out, but I never got around to watching it until now. I really enjoy this, it's super helpful and pretty entertaining. From the odd mention of who edited what video, I have been able to figure out that Trevor does my favorite edits. They are all very smooth and well-done, but Trevor's quick cuts, zooms, and picture-in-picture stunts are super entertaining. Keep up the good work, back room!

This was really useful. I was making videos and experiencing a problem of my recorded audio was always low even after maxing its volume and reducing the volume of the video game footage I was working with in the video editing program I was using. Because of this video I learned from Trevor about normalizing the volume of my recorded audio. Thanks for the video Trevor.

I wish they would upload more videos of them just doing stuff like editing; but have the editing crew doing a podcast as they do so. So Trevor, Matt, Andy, whoever else.

This is great video, but my favorite part is that Trevor talks about adjusting the loudness of audio and then doesn't know what his compressor is. Absolutely great stuff.

I totally forgot this existed but as someone who is about to graduate with a film major at uni, I found this to be a really useful video (never explored much into the multi-cam feature, was surprised to see how intuitive it is)! Also, Trevor, must say you are by far the most entertaining of the Premiere tutorials I've found. Haha!

Does anyone else like the videos that have the-person-who's-talking's perspective on the screen at all times the most? Cause like he said, he doesn't always edit like that, and maybe if he finds out that most people like the cutting done like that then he will make videos like that from now on.

Also why doesn't he ask the achievement hunters what color they would like their names to be or maybe let them design their own names that can be used for all the videos they make?

This was an enlightening video -- I never even new that certain audio files could contain multiple audio tracks, which makes a LOT more sense on why the 1-2-3 sequence is so important.

On a side not, Trevor sounds like he gets legit sexual gratification when he edits. Good job for him, I guess.

This "burning process" doesn't really make sense, why not just "Nest" the cam/name to the footage?

    Saves time.

You can just double click green timeline thingies and it opens up and shows everything it contains.

    • Eunoshin FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

With the number of times they render out footage to test and make sure it's right, it's probably more efficient to just hardburn the name on the video so that it doesn't have to be done time & time again.

    • caz_dk

But it has to be done time and time again, every time there is new footage, they have to render all of the footage, ALL ANGLES, ALL RECORDINGS, at the around 30 mb/s.

That is waste of time and resources.

They are working against them self.

I thoroughly enjoyed that. More would be cool, Trevor your cool, you mentioned editing notes, the thing I would like is seeing some things from multiple angles. Not necessarily in the video, maybe like an alt view thing, I know it was done a few times in the past.

It's nice having some insight into the world of editing with Adobe Premier as opposed to the software I used to use for commercials - Avid Media Composer 6.5; that is to say before I got out of editing. Keep up the good work Trevor.

    Hi Trevor !
    Great video, very interesting!
    A few questions:
    - When you edit with multicam (never did that) is the "cut" in premiere, automatic, or do you have to do something specific?

    - Can you explain why do you "mess" with the bitrates, I didn't understand that part?

Now, a bit of feedback, as a regular Premiere user, I understood your video but I think that for a "newbie" it's quite fast (I like it that way) but it depends if you want to generalize those videos, maybe other people found it too fast.

    Again, great video,

    Drouf

I believe they mess with bitrate so it renders faster and is a smaller file which would make it quicker to upload. I could be wrong but it's why I would do it

This is a great behind the scenes video. I use Premiere pretty often but seldom have a need for multicam, but I wondered, can you make each persons name plate and associated video capture a nested sequence and then stack all those in a sequence that you multicam from? Seems like there should be a faster way than rendering out brand new mp4s for everyone.

There probably is but if you render them out it will be a lot easier on the computer so unless you have a beast of a machine it would end up being a lot less to deal with and just make the project a little more organized.

Hey! Just wanted to say that the editing on that slasher let's play was awesome! The cuts to Michael's screen and zoom in on Jack giving the thumbs up were hilarious and made that video even better (great comedic timing, Trevor!). I really appreciate the hard work you guys put into the editing process and this video has actually inspired me to try my hand at editing! Keep up the great work!

Can you guys hire me? I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC too. I know how to use it and edit in CC. But I dont have enough experience because I dont film often, check my Youtube, its like 4 videos and 2 are only edited. Ill accept it even if you can have me as an intern, after I graduate of course.

That isn't too bad, never used that program, just takes a hell of a lot of time to do it. I think it is one of many times I'm glad I'm not in high school anymore. I was in the JROTC(one of the few good parts of high school I miss) and I was the guys that did all the videos and video edits that were presented to classes in the JROTC, to new people going into the high school and were thinking of joining the JROTC, all the way up to presentation videos to the city at one point.
